Great Falls Voyagers News Release
Great Falls, MT Tonight the Great Falls White Sox were defeated by the Casper Rockies 3-1 at Centene Stadium. Ryan Rote (2-3) took the loss in relief for the Sox as he allowed two ninth inning runs (1 earned). The win went to Bret Strickland (2-1) as he worked one inning in relief, setting the side down in order. The save went to Andrew Johnston (7) as he worked a perfect ninth.
Great Falls scored first in the game in the third inning on a Matt Tribble RBI hit to center. It marked the 13th straight game that Tribble has hit in for the Sox and it gave them a 1-0 lead.
Casper did nothing against starter Eric Everly until the seventh. Everly compiled 10 strikeouts and allowed five hits in the game. Unfortunately, the fifth hit allowed was a solo homerun to Dexter Fowler to tie the game at 1-1.
Rote came in to pitch the ninth for the Sox and gave up the go ahead run. It was an RBI double by Kyle Blumenthal before an error by Tribble allowed the second run to score. Casper would pick up the 3-1 win.
Tomorrow night the Sox will play the third game of this four game set with the Casper Rockies. The starters for the game are: Carlos Torres (RHP) for Great Falls and Chaz Roe (RHP) for Casper. Game time is at 7:00pm and can be heard on 560AM-KMON starting at 6:45.
News and Notes: The Grand Opening of the new "Great Falls Hall of Fame"Â will be on July 22nd, when the Sox host the Idaho Falls Chukars. The opening is set for 5pm.
