WILDCATS HEAD COACH: The 2007 season is Stingley's first season as Head Coach of the South Georgia Wildcats. Prior to joining the Wildcats, Stingley coached the Macon Knights, also of the af2, for two seasons. He began his career with the Knights in 2005 as the defensive coordinator, but was promoted to head coach halfway through the season. Stingley was able to turn around a 2-4 record, finishing the 2005 season at 8-8 and making the playoffs. In the 2006 season, the Knights again finished 8-8, missing the playoffs by one game. During his 8 seasons playing in the AFL, Stingley was a member of the 1999 Albany Firebird ArenaBowl Championship team, earning All-AFL honors in the same season. Stingley currently ranks ninth All-Time in the league in tackles (443.5) and fifth in pass break-ups (110). In addition to his professional football career, Stingley also played baseball at Purdue University. He was drafted in 1993 as a center fielder by the Philadelphia Phillies Organization and remained with the team for 2 years. Stingley is originally from Chicago, Illinois, but currently lives in Baton Rouge, Louisiana with his wife Natasha

and children Isis, Nahja, Derek Jr., and Sanaa.

COPPERHEADS HEAD COACH: Bryan Blake brings a host of experience on the field and the sidelines to the newest af2 franchise. The native Houstonian, who grew up in League City, TX, coached the Copperheads to a 12-4 record and a first-round playoff win in their only season in the National Indoor Football League. Blake began his coaching career in 2003 as a defensive coordinator with the NIFL franchise Beaumont Drillers. A year later, he took the reins of the entire team and lead the Drillers to an 8-6 record, good for second place in the Pacific South Division. In 2005, his coaching career landed him with the NIFL expansion team Lubbock Gunslingers. After one season with the Gunslingers, Blake added the word "owner" to his portfolio as he founded the NIFL Katy Copperheads. He then paired with Doug MacGregor to help establish the franchise in a more competitive league. Coaching, though, wasn't his only viewpoint of the football field. Blake played with the Texas Bullets of the Professional Indoor Football League before playing another four years in the NIFL. Blake played his collegiate days on an athletic scholarship at Kilgore Junior College before transferring to Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas, where he finished his college football career as one of the top NCAA Division II linebackers in the state. He graduated from Tarleton in 1997. He played football at Clear Creek High School where he was an all-district linebacker. Bryan lives in Katy with his wife Catherine, daughter Hannah, 4, and son Boston, 2.

DROPBACK: The Wildcats finished a three-game road trip 2-1 by defeating the Florida Firecats 47-40 at Estero, Florida, and clinching a playoff spot.
