Thunder Team Up with Poland Little Bulldogs

BOARDMAN, Ohio. - The Mahoning Valley Thunder, along with the Poland Little Bulldogs has teamed up to host the NFL Pepsi Punt Pass & Kick District Qualifier Competition on Saturday, July 28 at 9:30 a.m., the team announced today.
The NFL Punt, Pass & Kick football competition allows boys and girls to showcase their talents in punting, passing and kicking, with scores based on distance and accuracy. Age classification is as of December 31st of the current year. The entrance fee is $10.00 per child and the competition is open to boys and girls ages 6 to 15.
The District Qualifier will be held on Saturday, July 28 at 9:30 a.m. at the Poland Little Bulldogs practice field located at 7767 State Rt. 170 in Poland, Ohio (near Dobbins Elementary School). For more information, please call (330) 747-3975 Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Please arrive 20 minutes prior to the competition time, with the times as follows:
*Ages 7 & below 9:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. [*do not qualify for advancement]
Ages 8 & 9 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Ages 10 & 11 12:30 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Ages 12 & 13 2:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Ages 14 & 15 3:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Only the top finishers from each of the eight age groups between 8 and 15 years old of this competition will advance to the Sectional Competition. The winners at the Sectional Competition will have their scores compared with other Sectional champions and the top five (5) scores from the pool of Sectional champions will advance to the 2007 Team Championship to be held at Cleveland Browns Stadium during a Browns home game in November.
Age-group champions at this level will be declared NFL Pepsi Punt, Pass & Kick Team Champions. The top four (4) finishers in the boys' and girls' divisions within each age bracket from the pool of all Team Champions will qualify for the National Finals at an NFL playoff game in January.
