Sounds sweep doubleheader from RedHawks

The Nashville Sounds took both games of a doubleheader from the Oklahoma RedHawks Friday at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark.

Game one was the completion of an April 24 game that was suspended by rain. Nashville scored three runs in the fifth inning to take a 5-2 lead in a game they won 9-2.

Nashville beat Oklahoma 4-1 in game two, holding the RedHawks to four hits.

Jason Botts hit two home runs in the first game. His first home run came in the first inning in April from the right side of the plate while wearing No. 25. Home run number two came in the third inning in July from the left side of the plate while wearing No. 20.

Carlos Villanueva earned the win for Nashville in game one. He went the final seven innings of the game and gave up one run on three hits with three walks and four strikeouts.

Game two saw the RedHawks get held without a baserunner for the first three innings. Nashville starting pitcher Justin Lehr earned the win and went six innings, giving up one urn on four hits with no walks and four strikeouts.

Oklahoma's lone run in game two came on a home run by Tom Gregorio. Drew Meyer went two-for-three with a double for the RedHawks.

The RedHawks and Sounds meet again at 7:05 p.m. Saturday at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark.
