Nashville Sounds News Release
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Nashville Sounds and Centerplate, the team's hospitality partner, unveiled an array of new food and beverage offerings for the 2017 baseball season today. The new items feature a mix of Nashville comfort foods and new creative items that are intended to provide a top-notch gastronomic experience for guests who come to the ballpark to enjoy a game.
"We're excited to start the new season and kick our food and beverage program into overdrive," said Centerplate General Manager David Keitel. "We really spent time in the offseason listening to our fans, testing out new products and visiting local vendors in order to continue enhancing an in-stadium viewing experience that is one of the best in any sport."
The new general concourse menu additions are highlighted by a new Mesquite Smoked Prime Rib Sandwich, shaved thin and smothered with aged local buttermilk white cheddar, creamy horseradish sauce and red jalapeno slices. New Smoked Prime Rib Nash-chos will be covered with white cheese sauce, garden fresh tomatoes and spring onions. Fans are also sure to enjoy the new Black Hawk Farms Burger, a grass-fed, grain-finished, rich, buttery beef with no hormones or antibiotics. Also, the only way to improve on the classic Prime Rib Philly Cheesesteak is for you to now smoke the beef yourself, shave it thin and use it to make your cheesesteak.
The Band Box outdoor bar and restaurant in right field, as always, will feature several entertainment options - ping-pong, miniature golf, shuffleboard and more. New additions to the unique menu, which can only be found in right field, include:
* The Band Box Dog - All-Natural, Gluten Free, Black Angus Beef with Pimento Cheese, Golden Flake Potato Chip, Pickled Onion, on a Steamed Bun.
* Band Box Cheeseburger - Locally sourced from Bear Creek Farms in Franklin, TN. Smashed Patty, Sounds Sauce, Cheese, Tomato, on a Toasted Martin's Potato Roll.
* Vanilla Soft Serve - Locally sourced from Purity Dairy in Nashville. Offered in a waffle cone or souvenir helmet.
* Paloma - The tequila-based cocktail will be mixed at the Band Box with Dulce Vida Grapefruit Tequila.
* Local Craft Beers - Black Abbey Crossroads Summer Ale (16 oz. draft); Mill Creek Landmark Vintage Lager (16 oz. draft); Bold Rock Carolina Apple (gluten-free, 16 oz. can); Devils Backbone Vienna Lager (16 oz. can); Star Hill Northern Lights (16 oz. can); plus, six new taps will be rotating all season, featuring a varied mix of local options.
Also part of this year's cuisine at The Band Box will be a series of chef pop-ups. Over 15 chefs with ties to local Nashville restaurants will feature their specialty dishes throughout the 2017 season, presented by First Tennessee.
The suite levels now feature cheeses from the hills of Tennessee, which is a burgeoning industry right now. Farms supplying product for the cheese boards include: Sequatchie Cove Farm, Noble Springs Dairy and Sweetwater Valley Farm. The renowned Big Russ Habanero Cheese will now be used to enhance the prime rib sliders.
Tennessee institution Mama Turney's will also now be offering its famous pecan and chocolate pies, along with other desserts for the suite levels. Other top suite additions include: Mac & Cheese Poppers with Warm Tomato Jam, Cuban Sandwich Cigar Spring Rolls, and Beer Can Chicken, marinated for 24 hours and roasted atop a can of Budweiser to create a juicy chicken with a crispy skin.
