NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Nashville Sounds Baseball Club has announced its Opening Day festivities, presented by First Tennessee, when they begin the 71-game home schedule Tuesday, April 11 at 6:35 p.m. against the Oklahoma City Dodgers.

"Opening Day signals the start of baseball season - a time-honored tradition of America's pastime," said Sounds General Manager and Chief Operating Officer Adam Nuse. "After another successful season at First Tennessee Park in 2016, we're excited to officially turn the page to the Sounds' 40th anniversary season. We have a memorable night planned for the best fans in Minor League Baseball."

The excitement begins with a 5:00 p.m. block party concert on Junior Gilliam Way. Universal Music Group Nashville's Brandon Lay will perform until 5:30 p.m. Lay was recently named one of seven up-and-coming acts in the 2017 RISERS program by Taste of Country. Food and drinks will be available for purchase at the block party.

Gates to First Tennessee Park are set to open at 5:30 p.m. As gates open, Dueling Pianos stationed next to each dugout will take over the night's music. In-between inning tunes and baseball-themed music will ring throughout the ballpark.

At 6:15 p.m., Megan Barry, Mayor of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, will throw out the ceremonial first pitch to Sounds Manager Ryan Christenson.

After Barry's ceremonial first pitch, Lay will perform the National Anthem. The nation's colors will be presented by the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department.

After the game, fans will be treated to the first post-game fireworks show of the 2017 season. The 2017 season is the Sounds' 40th in franchise history and their third as the Oakland Athletics' top affiliate. The campaign begins tonight in Round Rock, Texas with first pitch at 6:35 p.m. Season ticket memberships are available now by calling (615) 690-4487 or by visiting www.nashvillesounds.com.
