Colorado Springs Sky Sox News Release
COLORADO SPRINGS, CO - The weather forecast shows sunny skies across Colorado Springs to wrap up the first full week in April, just in time for the Sky Sox to open the 2017 season at Security Service Field. The top affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers begins the new season on Thursday, April 6 with a four-game homestand against the division rival Omaha Storm Chasers, top affiliate of the Kansas City Royals.
Thursday's home opener is scheduled for 6:40 PM MDT against Omaha, kicking off a weekend full of exciting promotions, starting immediately with a Magnet Schedule Giveaway for all fans presented by Heat Depot. Magnet schedules will be given out for the duration of the homestand for as long as supplies last.
The first Friday Night Fireworks of the season takes place April 7 after the 7:00 p.m. game with the Storm Chasers. Following the game, Fireworks presented by Gray Line will light up the sky to the tune of classic baseball songs.
Saturday's 4 p.m. matchup is highlighted by the first major raffle of the season. Thanks to Heat Depot, one lucky fan will leave Security Service Field with a 55' Flatscreen TV, so be sure to get your tickets for the first Saturday of the season.
The four-game series wraps up on Sunday, April 9 at 1:30 p.m. with a celebration of Colorado Springs' favorite fox. It's Sox the Fox's Birthday Party, and everyone is welcome to celebrate with the Sky Sox mascot on his big day along with several of his mascot friends.
