Seattle Sounders FC News Release

In the second game of a three game road trip in five days, the Seattle Sounders (3-2-3) travel to Puerto Rico to face the Islanders (1-3-1), tonight in a USL-1 regular season match. Kickoff at Juan Ramon Loubriel Stadium is at 5:00 p.m. (PST).

The Sounders look to rebound after losing to the Carolina Railhawks on Wednesday 2-1. In that match, goals from Connally Edozien and an own goal from Noah Merl offset a Sebastien Le Toux penalty as the Sounders suffered their second defeat of the season.

The Sounders are currently in sixth place in the USL-1 with 12 points, five points back of league leaders, Charleston Battery.

Puerto Rico is currently in tenth place, however their point total of four is deceiving as they have only played five games this season. The Islanders last match resulted in a 2-2 tie against the Portland Timbers on May 16.

Seattle will challenge the rested Islanders without defender Zach Scott, who faces a league-mandated one game suspension after receiving a red card in the defeat to Carolina.

The match marks the first time the two teams have played since the 2007 semifinal series where Seattle won in a penalty-kick shootout en route to their 4th USL-1 title.
