Seattle Sounders FC News Release
SEATTLE, WASH. - After dismantling archrival Portland Timbers 6-2 on Sunday evening, Seattle Sounders FC (10-3-6, 36 points) continues its stretch of three road games in seven days with a match in Frisco, Texas against FC Dallas (5-8-6, 21 points). The Rave Green and the Hoops met just two weeks ago on August 4 in the Pacific Northwest, where Dallas was able to find a late equalizer in the 91st minute to level the game at 1-1.
Sounders FC is 12-7-8 all-time against Dallas in the regular season. However, the Rave Green hold a 3-6-5 record in Texas, being outscored 20-13. The two teams have also met eight times in the postseason, with Seattle holding a 4-2-2 record in those competitions, the most recent being a 1-0 Seattle victory in the 2020 Audi MLS Cup Playoffs.
Since the draw with Dallas, Seattle has rattled off two wins, the first coming against Liga MX side Tigres UANL in the Leagues Cup quarterfinals by a score of 3-0 before its win in Portland. Dallas is 1-1-0 in the two matches since facing Seattle, defeating Austin FC by a score of 2-0 before falling to Sporting Kansas City 2-0.
Wednesday's match is the second in a three-game road stretch for Seattle that concludes in Columbus for a MLS Cup Final rematch against the Crew (2:30 p.m. PT / FOX, 950 KJR AM, El Rey 1360 AM). Following the three road matches, Los Angeles hosts the 2021 MLS All-Star Game against the best of Liga MX. Sounders FC saw a club-record six All-Stars selected this season.
