5 Things to Know about #DALvSEA
Bouncing Back
FC Dallas welcomes the Seattle Sounders to Toyota Stadium looking to bounce back from its first home defeat in over a year. Prior to Saturday's 2-0 defeat to Sporting KC, Dallas had earned 10 points over four games with one of the points coming from FCD's 1-1 draw with the Sounders at Lumen Field just two weeks ago. Dallas outshot SKC 16 to 11 and struck the post on four different occasions. Although it wasn't enough, Dallas can take confidence in the weekend's performance and carry some of it into the Seattle matchup.
Stopping Seattle
Seattle is the second-highest scoring team in the Western Conference and is coming off a 6-2 away win over the Portland Timbers Sunday night. In the two games since FCD's 1-1 draw at Lumen Field, the Sounders have scored a combined nine goals and conceded just two. Seattle forward Raul Ruidiaz also leads the MLS Golden Boot race with 13 goals from 19 games. Dallas' backline - which will be boosted by the return of center back Bressan from suspension - will be tasked with keeping Seattle's dangerous attack under wraps.
Home Points
Wednesday's game at Toyota Stadium is FCD's last home match before a three-game road run. It's also the last home stand before Dallas plays six of its next seven away. Getting three points against one of the league's top teams would be the perfect send off before the next few weeks of travel.
Against Seattle
FC Dallas' all-time regular season record against Seattle is 7-12-8 (29 GF, 43 GA). Dallas' all-time home record against the Sounders is 6-3-5 (20 GF, 13 GA). FCD and Seattle tied 1-1 on Aug. 4 at Lumen Field, thanks to a late tying goal from Franco Jara.
About Seattle
Seattle is currently second place in the Western Conference with 36 points (10-3-6). The team's top scorer Raul Ruidiaz leads the MLS Golden Boot race with 13 goals from 19 games. Seattle holds the best defensive record in the league with 16 goals conceded and has the second-best goal-scoring record in the conference with 32 goals on the season.
