Sounders FC Signs Bowen

RENTON, WASH. - Seattle Sounders FC has signed forward Tristan Bowen, the club announced today. Seattle acquired the rights to Bowen in a trade with Chivas USA on December 11, 2013.

"Tristan is a young player who has good experience in this league," said Sounders FC Head Coach Sigi Schmid. "He is very athletic and brings flexibility to our club. Tristan has the ability to play multiple positions."

Bowen, 22, established a career high with 22 appearances and 15 starts for Chivas USA in 2013, scoring two goals with two assists. He made eight appearances in his first two seasons with Chivas USA, recording two assists. Bowen spent his first two professional seasons with the LA Galaxy where he made 18 appearances and 10 starts, including two goals and two assists in 2010.

A native of Los Angeles, Bowen was the first player to come out of the LA Galaxy youth academy system to sign with the first team on November 12, 2008. Bowen also played for the U.S. Under-18 and Under-20 National Teams.
