SOUL SLAY DRAGONS, CLINCH DIVISION
The Philadelphia Soul dominated the New York Dragons from the opening kickoff during their 59-30 win on Sunday. Fullback Wes Ours scored two first-quarter touchdowns, including one on the receiving end of a pass by wide receiver Chris Jackson. The Philadelphia defense did its share of the work, forcing four turnovers including two interceptions returned for touchdowns. Defensive back Eddie Moten had his hand in on three of the turnovers, forcing a fumble on the Dragons' first possession and picking off two passes. The win also gave the Soul their first ever season sweep and two-game win streak against New York.
SOUL DATE SET FOR DIVISIONAL ROUND
In clinching home-field advantage throughout the playoffs, the Soul also clinched a first-round bye. The Soul's next game is set for July 5 at 7pm against the lowest seed in the National Conference remaining after the Wild Card round.

NEW FRANCHISE GOLD-STANDARD SET FOR SOUL REGULAR SEASON
In addition to winning the franchise's first division title, a number of franchise records were set by the Soul. The Soul set a new record for total wins in a season with 13, breaking 2005's mark of 9. The Soul also set new records for divisional, home and away wins in a season. This season the Soul won seven of their eight games within the Eastern division when the Soul had never won more than four divisional games in any previous year. Philadelphia won seven home games this season, two games better than 2006's mark of five. The Soul also won six away games this season, two games better than the previous best of four won in both 2006 and 2005. The 2008 season also marked the first time that Philadelphia swept both New York and Dallas in a single season.
PRACTICE TIMES
This season, the Soul celebrated the move to its new practice facility, The Coliseum in Voorhees, NJ. Media interested in attending practice is encouraged to call the Soul's communications department to be properly attended to and to confirm times. Below is a tentative schedule for the week ahead.

AROUND THE LEAGUE The Columbus Destroyers and head coach Doug Kay reached a mutual agreement to not extend Kay's contract beyond this season...New York's loss means they have to travel to play Dallas...Cleveland hosts Orlando in the other National Conference Wild Card Game.
