September 27, 2006 - ECHL (ECHL)
Wheeling Nailers News Release
Wheeling, WV- The Wheeling Nailers, the 'AA' affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins, announce today that they have re-signed forward Eric Sonnenberg. As per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The 24-year-old native of Wetaskiwin, Alberta, Canada returns for his second season with the Nailers and third overall in the ECHL.
"I'm really excited about the core group of guys we have coming back," Sonnenberg said. "A lot of us already have a year under Glenn (Patrick) so another season is only going to make us a better team."
The 6-foot-3, 195-pound forward was eighth on the team in scoring last season. He scored 18 goals and added 18 assists for 36 points in 70 games.
"Eric is a very talented player," head coach Glenn Patrick said. "And he has room to develop and become an even more potent goal scorer."
Individual game tickets are on sale now. They are available for purchase at the Nailers team store located in their office at 1315 Main St. in downtown Wheeling, by calling 304-234-GOAL or online at www.WheelingNailers.com.
