Somerset Patriots Sign Slugging First Baseman Jesse Hoorelbeke

Bridgewater, NJ- The Five-Time Atlantic League Champion Somerset Patriots have announced the signing of first baseman Jesse Hoorelbeke.

Hoorelbeke is a four-time All-Star in his career, including two in his three seasons in the Atlantic League with the Bridgeport Bluefish. He last played in Bridgeport in 2009, finishing with a .293 average, 128 hits, 27 doubles, 23 home runs, and 88 RBI in 120 games played.

Hoorelbeke was the 2007 Atlantic League Co-Player Of The Year for his .313 batting average, 135 hits, 33 home runs, and 94 RBI.

For his Atlantic League career, Hoorelbeke has a .293 average with 400 hits, 72 doubles, 84 home runs, and 288 RBI in 363 games played.

Hoorelbeke has experience in the Los Angeles Dodgers, Seattle Mariners, Chicago Cubs, and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim organizations.

He spent the past two seasons in Fargo-Moorhead. In 2010 he set the club's single-season home run record with 29 and finished with a .273 batting average, 99 hits, 22 doubles, and 75 RBI in 96 games.

In 2011, he finished with a .295 batting average, 107 hits, 26 doubles, 15 home runs, and 75 RBI in 94 games.

He has a minor league career .283 batting average with 1,050 hits, 209 doubles, 223 home runs, and 750 RBI in 1,014 games played.
