
Somerset Patriots Sign Sandoval, Mathews, and Shehan

Bridgewater, NJ- The Five-Time Atlantic League Champion Somerset Patriots have announced the signings of infielder Freddy Sandoval and outfielders Aaron Mathews and Chris Shehan.
Sandoval has Major League experience with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, where he played in 11 games during the 2008 and 2009 seasons.
Sandoval has four seasons of Triple-A experience for the Angels organization and has a career .292 average, 705 hits, 164 doubles, 24 triples, 46 home runs, and 359 RBI in 634 games played.
He hit .280 with 20 RBI in 44 games for Triple-A Salt Lake in 2011.
Mathews has Triple-A experience with the Toronto Blue Jays and Miami Marlins organizations. He played in 29 games in Triple-A last season for New Orleans.
During the 2010 season, Mathews had a .330 average with 108 hits, 26 doubles, 11 home runs, and 48 RBI at the Triple-A level in Las Vegas.
He has a minor league career .285 average with 752 hits, 142 doubles, 32 triples, 47 home runs, and 324 RBI.
Shehan has experience in the Atlanta Braves organization, where he has spent his entire career before joining the Patriots.
He has 172 hits, 37 doubles, and 55 RBI in 196 minor league career games.
