Waldorf, MD - The Somerset Patriots (7-3) completed the three game sweep of the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs (3-8) by winning Sunday afternoon 4-1 at Regency Furniture Stadium. It was the Patriots' fourth win in a row overall and they've now won six of seven contests against the Blue Crabs this year.

In the top of the second inning center fielder Joe Holden hit a soft RBI single up the middle to give the Patriots an early 1-0 lead.

Southern Maryland quickly responded with a line drive solo homer (3) by first baseman Ryan Mulhern to tie the game at 1-1 in the home half of the second inning.

Somerset would take a 3-1 lead in the third inning as first baseman Jake Fox slugged a homer (5) for the third consecutive game and left fielder Mike Wilson added a RBI double.

The Patriots added another insurance run in the top of the fourth inning as right fielder Ahron Eggleston blooped a RBI single to right field to expand the lead to 4-1 which would be the final score.

Josh Lowey (1-1) earned the win as he tossed seven strong innings scattering just three hits. Gaby Hernandez (0-3) suffered the loss. Brandon Braboy notched his first save of the season pitching a scoreless ninth inning.

The 2013 Somerset Patriots season presented by Ford will continue on the road until Friday, May 3rd when the Patriots return home for a 7:05 p.m. game against the Bridgeport Bluefish. For tickets, call (908) 252-0700 or visit www.somersetpatriots.com.
