Somersall to Join St. Kitts and Nevis for Concacaf Qualifiers

STATESBORO, Ga. - South Georgia Tormenta FC midfielder Raheem Somersall has been called up by the St. Kitts and Nevis Men's National Team for the June window of the Concacaf Qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. Somersall is the first current Tormenta FC player to receive a call-up to their national team.

Tormenta Nation can cheer on Somersall as St. Kitts and Nevis takes one Guyana in Basseterre on June 4, followed by Trinidad and Tobago on June 8 in the Dominican Republic. St. Kitts and Nevis currently sits atop Group F in the First Round of Concacaf qualification and needs four points to advance to the Second Round of qualification.

Somersall made his debut for the St. Kitts and Nevis Senior National Team in 2017 and has made nine total career appearances, recently representing his home country as captain versus Puerto Rico in the 2022 Concacaf World Cup Qualifiers.

The Caribbean talent made his Tormenta FC debut versus Greenville Triumph SC on May 22, impressing the coaching staff with his control of the midfield. Somersall becomes the club's third player all-time to be called up to their National Team after Nico Rittmeyer and Leland Archer, who represent Guatemala and Trinidad and Tobago, respectively.

Additionally, midfielder Kobe Perez has traveled to be assessed by the Guatemala Men's National Team ahead of its Concacaf Qualifiers. A Dalton, Georgia, native, Perez qualifies to compete for Los Chapines through his father, who is a native of the country.

Somersall and Tormenta FC host Forward Madison FC this Saturday, May 29, at 7 p.m. ET, and look to emerge victorious in the club's seventh matchup in league play. In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Night, a portion of all ticket proceeds will go to the Bulloch County Relay For Life. Fans should purchase their tickets, including season tickets, half-season plans or quarter-season plans, in advance.
