SOCKERS OPEN TRAINING CAMP FRIDAY AT ECKE FAMILY YMCA
2017-18 Team Ready To Challenge For The MASL Ron Newman Championship
New Additions Add Experience And Excitement To The 14-Time Champions
SAN DIEGO (Wednesday, October 18, 2017 - #17-03) - The 14-time indoor/arena champion San Diego Sockers begin their "Quest For 15" on Friday, October 20, 7:00 a.m. at the Ecke Family YMCA. The preseason will include one game on Sunday, October 29 at Ontario. The season kicks off on Thursday, November 2 in El Paso against the Coyotes. The home opener versus Syracuse is set for Sunday, November 5, 5:05 p.m. at the Valley View Casino Center in San Diego. Tickets are on sale at Sockers.com.
Twenty-six players will be at participating at the start of training camp. A few more players, who will be a part of the Reserve Team, will be added from tonight's final tryout match.
During the offseason, the club added some firepower and staunch defenders to the Sockers core. "The roster for the upcoming season is probably the most competitive and comprehensive that we have ever had in the MASL," said Sockers General Manager Sean Bowers. "Fans should be excited about the team that we will be putting on the field."
