Sockers Face Resurgent Stars In Tacoma On Friday

SAN DIEGO (Thursday - MP #17-16) - The 14-time champion San Diego Sockers venture to the Pacific Northwest in search of a playoff berth when they meet the resurgent Tacoma Stars on Friday, February 9, 7:35 p.m., at the accesso ShoWare Center.
With a win, the Sockers (12-3) will clinch a playoff berth and then would only need one more win to claim the Pacific Divison title. Tacoma (8-9) is playing for second place in the division against Ontario (9-8). They will play each other twice before the end of the season.
The Stars are 5-3 at home and have been playing well of late. The addition of former Socker Nick Perara and Taylor Walter Bond has made Tacoma's offense more explosive. They were added to the strong midfield trio of Raphael Cox, Joey Gjertsen, and Philip Lund. The defense is always secure with former Goalkeeper of the Year Danny Waltman.
San Diego, who is 3-0 when returning from a bye week, plays two games this weekend. First in Tacoma and then at home on Sunday to host the Soles de Sonora.
