
Snappers 2006 home schedule released

The Beloit Snappers have finalized the home portion of their schedule for 2006, their 25th season of baseball. For the third consecutive year the Snappers open the season at home. Opening Day 2006, Beloit is set to host the Cedar Rapids Kernels, April 6, at 6:30 pm. The Snappers and Kernels will play a four game series from April 6-9.
Following the Kernels into Pohlman Field is the Snappers in-state rival the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, April 10-12. The Timber Rattlers return to Beloit July 28-31. The Snappers welcome the defending 2005 Midwest League Champion South Bend Silver Hawks in their last home stand of the first half, June 10-13. Beloit hosts Western Division rival Kane County nine times in 2006. The Cougars come to town May 12-15, June 26-28 and July 1-2. The Peoria Chiefs, class A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs, and the Snappers will play a pair of four game sets at Pohlman Field in 2006. In the first half of the season the Chiefs will be in Beloit April 17-20. Beloit closes out the regular season at home for a third consecutive season, this time with their second four game series against Peoria, September 1-4.
Fans will have the chance to catch fifteen spectacular firework nights at Pohlman Field in 2006 - May 13, May 27, June 10, June 23, June 24, July 1, July 8, July 15, July 28, July 29, August 4, August 18, August 19, September 2, and September 3.
Individual tickets are set to go on sale February 1, 2006. Ticket plans for 2006 are currently available. Fans can purchase ticket plans in 8-game, 15-game, 35-game and 70-game packages, starting as low as $37.40. The Snappers are also taking reservations for group and picnic outings for next season. Remember that firework and giveaway days traditional fill up quickly.
