
Snakes Drop Pair Of Games At Home

COLUMBUS, Ga. - The Columbus Cottonmouths dropped a pair of games at home last week, losing Friday to the Knoxville Ice Bears and Saturday to the Louisiana IceGators. The Snakes return to home ice on Tuesday to face the Pensacola Ice Flyers, who Columbus defeated for their home opener on October 26. The Cottonmouths hit the road for their next two games this week with a Wednesday game in Biloxi against the Mississippi Surge and a Saturday contest in North Carolina against the Fayetteville FireAntz. All three games will be broadcast on America One Networks with both a video and audio feed, with a nominal fee for each game. A free audio-only webcast of the games is also available. Tuesday, November 20 - Pensacola at Columbus, 7:30 PM EST (Season Series vs. PEN: 1-0-0)
The Snakes face the Pensacola Ice Flyers on Tuesday night at the Civic Center. Columbus defeated the Ice Flyers 4-0 in the home opener on October 26 and the only victory at the Snake Pit for the Cottonmouths so far this season. Pensacola is 5-2-2 and tied with Knoxville for third place in the early SPHL standings, although the Ice Bears have a game in hand on the Ice Flyers.
PROMOTIONS: $2 for Tuesday - Enjoy select $2 concessions - nachos, soda, popcorn, and hot dogs - at the concession stands while supplies last.
Wednesday, November 21 - Columbus at Mississippi Surge, 8:05 PM EST (Season Series vs. MSS: 1-0-0)
The Cottonmouths hit the road Wednesday night to face the Mississippi Surge in Biloxi for a Thanksgiving Eve matchup. The Snakes defeated the Surge 3-2 in the lone meeting between the two teams so far this season on November 9, also at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum.
Saturday, November 24 - Columbus at Fayetteville, 7:35 PM EST (Season Series vs. FAY: 0-1-0)
The Snakes head east on Saturday night to take on the Fayetteville FireAntz at the Crown Coliseum. Columbus held the FireAntz to two goals in the other meeting between the two teams this season back on November 3 but could only get one past Fayetteville netminder Marco Emond in a 2-1 loss. The FireAntz are just a point behind Louisiana for the SPHL lead in the standings and have a game in hand on the IceGators.
Join the Snakes on Friday, November 30 with a special 6 PM puck drop for Midget Wrestling presented by the Extreme Midget Wrestling Federation immediately following the Cottonmouths game that night.

Friday, November 16 - Knoxville 3 at Columbus 1 (Attendance: 2,478)
Tom Maldonado scored the lone marker for the Snakes last night as they dropped a 3-1 contest to the Knoxville Ice Bears. The Ice Bears took their second win over the Snakes in as many games against Columbus after a 2-1 shootout win over the Cottonmouths on November 6. Rookie goaltender Connor Toomey took the win in net for the Ice Bears with 23 saves on 24 shots with Ian Vigier suffering his first regulation loss of the season for the Snakes with 29 saves on 32 shots. The Snakes were 0 for 2 on the power play while Knoxville was 1 for 5 on the man advantage.
Saturday, November 17 - Louisiana 4 at Columbus 2 (Attendance: 2,374)
The IceGators and Cottonmouths swapped goals on Saturday night, but Columbus could get no closer than one goal to Louisiana, with the `Gators adding an empty-netter in the game's final seconds for the final margin of victory. Orrin Hergott and John Sullivan notched the goals for Columbus. Andrew Loewen took the loss in net for Columbus with 20 saves on 23 shots while Louisiana's Jesse Kallechy stopped 39 of the 41 Cottonmouth shots on goal. Louisiana was 0 for 1 on the power play but notched a shorthanded marker against the Snakes, who were 0 for 5 with the man advantage.

1. D Tom Maldonado - Maldonado provided the only offense for the Snakes Friday night against the Ice Bears with the game's lone goal.
2. F Orrin Hergott - Hergott scored a goal on Saturday night against Louisiana.
