Knoxville Smokies News Release

KODAK, Tenn. - The Tennessee Smokies (63-56, 26-24) shutout the Rocket City Trash Pandas (69-50, 27-22) 6-0 Saturday night at Smokies Stadium. After dropping the first three games of the week, the Smokies have now won for the second consecutive night and can salvage a series-split Sunday.

Tennessee's pitching turned in a much-needed shutout. RHP Ben Brown battled through four innings, and though he allowed six hits and a walk, he did not let a run score. The Smokies' bullpen also bounced back in a major way, with Peyton Remy (W, 8-5) earning the win over 2.2 scoreless frames.

Cole Roederer and Andy Weber each recorded multiple hits in the win, with Roederer scoring twice from the lead-off spot. Jake Slaughter drove in a pair with a double and Yonathan Perlaza also doubled and scored.

The Smokies will play the finale of their series against the Rocket City Trash Pandas Sunday afternoon at Smokies Stadium. First pitch is set for 2:00 p.m. ET. Fans can catch the action on 99.1 The Sports Animal or by visiting https://www.milb.com/tennessee/fans/audio-listen-live.

Sundays at Smokies Stadium are Family Funday Sundays. For tickets, call the box office at (865) 286-2300 or visit smokiesbaseball.com.
