Jacksonville, Fla. - Bucky Jacobsen stroked his league leading 27th home run and Chris Narveson returned to his winning ways as Tennessee (31-23, 66-58) opened a four game series at Jacksonville (58-66, 27-28) with a 5-1 win Saturday night in front of 7,845 at The Baseball Grounds.
Yadier Molina opened the 4th inning with a single against Edwin Jackson (7-7) before Jacobsen homered to right to break a scoreless tie. Consecutive doubles from Papo Bolivar and John Nelson in the fifth plated three more.
The Suns scored their lone run against Chris Narveson (4-1) in the fifth inning on a solo home run by Franklin Gutierrez. Narveson struck out five over six innings for the win.
Josh Kinney entered with one on in the 7th and struck out the side. Mike Lyons struck out the side in the 9th to finish the win.
The Smokies continue their series at Jacksonville Sunday night with Julio Villalon (4-5, 3.57) pitching against Will McCrotty (2-5, 3.93).
