Jackson, Tenn. - Dan Haren pitched scattered four hits over eight innings and John Gall paced the offense with three hits as the Smokies topped the Diamond Jaxx 5-0 Saturday night at Pringles Park.

Haren improved to 5-0 and dropped his ERA to 0.88. The West Covina, Calif. Native worked his way out of a bases loaded jam in the fourth inning and allowed just one hit the rest of the way. Haren retired the final nine batters he faced.

B.R. Cook pitched a scoreless ninth to preserve the shutout for Tennessee, the Smokies second of the season.

Tennessee opened the scoring when John Gall drove home Jeremy Dodson with a third inning single off John Webb (0-5). Bucky Jacobsen doubled home Caonabo Cosme with a double in the sixth, and Dodson celebrated his 26th birthday with a solo home run in the eighth. The Smokies final two runs came on a two run single from Yadier Molina in the ninth off Russ Rohlicek.

The series will conclude Sunday afternoon with Nick Stocks (2-0, 2.32) starting for the Smokies opposite Aaron Krawiec (3-1, 2.64).
