
Smash Hit Hockey returns this weekend

Rockford, Ill.- The Rockford IceHogs, proud members of the United Hockey League, will host two games during week two of the UHL's 2004-05 season. The Missouri River Otters and Motor City Mechanics will both make their first trip to the Rockford MetroCentre this season.
Friday night, the River Otters renew their rivalry at the big orange box at 7:05 p.m. The Hogs and Otters will meet a total of 12 times this season, including six at the MetroCentre. Also Friday, the first 1,000 fans to the game will receive Smash Hit Hockey poster #1 from Pepsi, Medicine Man, Johnson Press, the Rockford Register Star, and 96.7 FM The Eagle. There will be a total of six posters in the series.
On Saturday, fans can check out hockey before the IceHogs! Doors will open at 3:30 for the IceHogs game and fans can see the Rockford Police force battle the Chicago Police department before the Hogs drop the puck against the Mechanics. The police officers will begin play at 4:00 p.m. Tickets for the IceHogs game that night can be used for early admittance to the police officers game.
Then at 7:05 p.m., the IceHogs will entertain the expansion Motor City club. Be one of the first 1,000 fans to the game beginning at 3:30 p.m. and receive a flashlight key chain just in time for trick-or-treating, courtesy of the Generator Store and 23WIFR.
Also, don't forget to bring your skates, because following the game the Hogs will host the season's first Skate With The Hogs. Fans can meet all of this season's IceHogs players on the ice and can skate on the same rink where the Hogs play!
