Springfield Sliders News Release
The Hannibal Cavemen beat the Springfield Sliders for the second consecutive day at Robin Roberts Stadium, by the final score of 8-4. After Hannibal scored first, Springfield had a two run second inning to take the lead. Bryce Sablotny started for the Sliders but took a line drive off the shin, forcing him out of the game after just three innings. The bullpen could not hold the 2-1 lead as T R Dunne, who took the loss, surrendered 5 runs in 4 innings. Springfield, trailing 6-2 in the seventh would close the gap to 6-4, but never get closer than that the rest of the way. Hannibal finished off the scoring with two runs off of David Frank in the eighth inning. The Sliders have an off day tomorrow, and then will be back in action at Robin Roberts Stadium on Tuesday when they take on the Quincy Gems at 12:05.
The Springfield Sliders are members of the Prospect League, playing at historic Robin Roberts Stadium. The Sliders are members of the Western Division along with the Danville (IL) Dans, DuBois County (IN) Bombers, Hannibal (MO) Cavemen, Quincy (IL) Gems, and Terre Haute (IN) Rex.
