The Sliders officially announced the hiring of Zac Charbonneau as the Sliders Field Manager for the 2016 season. Charbonneau is currently an assistant coach at Roosevelt University and has coached in several summer collegiate leagues including the Prospect League and the Northwoods League.

Zac is entering his fifth season as assistant coach at Roosevelt University and sixth overall on the college level. Last year in Roosevelt's fifth season of existence, the team had its best season yet. The Lakers had a record setting season and posted their highest win total.

Over the last three summers Zac has managed the Des Plaines Patriots of the Metro Collegiate League. In that time, the club has finished in the top 2 three times and won the league in 2014. In that summer, the Patriots won the AAABA National Championship also. Prior to getting to Des Plaines, Zac worked in the Prospect League for the Slippery Rock Sliders and Kenosha for the Kingfish of the Northwoods League. As the Bench Coach for the Sliders, Coach Charbonneau compiled scouting reports and executed in game offensive and defensive strategies. He was also responsible for working with the club's pitchers. Zac's first year coaching was spent with Millikin Universtiy. During his time coaching 9 of his players have moved on to professional baseball.

His playing career started at Oak Forest High School in Oak Forest, Illinois where the Bengals won conference three times and was a two time captain. The 2006 edition of the Bengals earned a 29-5 record. Following graduation, Zac moved on to Moraine Valley CC to play for Mike Kashirsky. The 2007 team set a school record with 39 wins and won Region IV Sectional. Zac appeared in 22 games batting .273. Sophomore year Charbonneau played at Prairie State College for Bill Storrs. While captaining the Pioneers, Zac hit .341 and earned second team all skyway conference. Following the season, he was selected to play in the Region IV All-Star Game. Zac then moved on to Millikin University, however, his career was cut short after multiple surgeries.

Zac earned a Bachelor's degree at Millikin in Sports Management with a minor in Communications. Following graduation, he worked for the Windy City ThunderBolts of the Frontier League. In the offseason, Zac gives lessons at Players Edge in Mundelein and is the Site Director for the Chicago North HSFBL. He resides in Libertyville, IL with his wife, Jenna and their dog, Annheuser "Annie B". Zac is huge Notre Dame Football fan and phenomenal dancer.
