
Slammers Sweep Lake Erie with Win on Sunday

Joliet, IL - The Joliet Slammers presented by ATI Physical Therapy beat the Lake Erie Crushers 6-4 Sunday afternoon.
Lake Erie started the scoring in the top of the first with Kewby Meyer and Cody Lenahan hitting RBI singles making it 2-0 Crushers after the top half of the inning. Joliet quickly responded with a four-run bottom of the first headlined by a Justin Garcia two-run home run making it 4-2 Slammers. Garcia is leading the Frontier League in home runs and is top three in RBIs.
The Crushers tied the game in the top of the third scoring two runs with Lenahan hitting another RBI single and Joel McKeithon reaching on a fielders' choice that scored a run.
Travis Bolin hit a go ahead two-run home run in the bottom of the eighth to make it 6-4 that would clinch the Slammers victory.
Tonight's Merchants and Manufacturers Bank Player of the Game is Travis Bolin with the go ahead home run as he went 3-4 with one run and two RBIs.
With the sweep Sunday the Slammers remain near atop the Frontier League East Division with the Washington Wild Things and the Crushers.
The Slammers are back home Tuesday, July 3rd at 7:05 p.m.
