
Slammers, Sprint Raise Funds for Easter Seals Joliet Region

Joliet, IL - The Joliet Slammers presented by ATI Physical Therapy were proud to present Easter Seals Joliet Region with a check for nearly $6,000 following Superhero Night presented by Sprint by Air Corp Wireless held on Friday, July 27.
In partnership with Sprint by Air Corp Wireless, Slammers players wore a customized superhero jersey on July 27 that was available for auction throughout the game. Over $2,000 was raised from the jersey auction benefiting Easter Seals Joliet Region. In addition, the night included the annual Guns N Hoses charity softball game between the Joliet Police Department and Joliet Fire Department. Nearly 500 tickets were sold for the charity softball game with $5.00 from every $10.00 ticket sold going back to the fundraiser. Adding to the funds raised throughout the night was 50/50 sales from the game run by the Joliet Catholic Varsity Football team, and a lottery raffle run by Easter Seals.
The Joliet Fire Department came away with the win after two consecutive years losing to the Police Department. The 2018 Guns N Hoses game was the event's 15th year.

The Funds raised through this event makes a difference to over 3,500 children, adults, and their families from 82 communities throughout the Easterseals Joliet Region."
Superhero night included vehicle displays and touch-a-truck by both the Joliet Police and Fire Departments, a pre-game demonstration by the Joliet Police Department's K-9 unit along with a performance from the Joliet Police Pipes and Drums. Superhero characters were available for fans to meet and take photos with on the concourse.
The Slammers final series of the 2018 regular season will be held August 31- September 2 at Joliet Route 66 Stadium. A playoff punch card is on sale now for $20. The playoff pass is good for up to six playoff games, the maximum number of home games possible at Joliet Route 66 Stadium. The pass is available to the first 1,000 buyers.
