
Slammers Beat Normal Twice Thursday Night

Joliet Slammers News Release
Joliet, IL - The Joliet Slammers presented by ATI Physical Therapy beat the Normal CornBelters 11-0 and 1-0 Thursday night.
The Slammers started their scoring in the bottom of the third with six runs. Joliet quickly scored two more runs with Danny Zardon hitting an RBI single and RJ Thompson hitting a sacrifice fly making it 8-0 Joliet.
Dom Iero hit a pinch hit three run home run in the bottom of the 8th making it 11-0 Slammers.
It would take extra innings in the second game but the Slammers would win it in the bottom of the 9th with Ridge Hoopii-Haslam walking it off on a fielder's choice that scored Trenton Hill securing the Slammers 1-0 win.
Tonight's Merchants and Manufacturers Bank Player of the Game is Frontier League All-Star Liam O'Sullivan who had a perfect game into the 6th inning.
He finished with eight innings pitched striking out four, allowing three hits, and no runs.
The Slammers return home Tuesday, July 17th at 7:05 p.m.
