Skyrockets to Host Draft Party at Sports on Tap
September 20, 2007 - Continental Basketball Association 1 (CBA 1)
Minot Skyrockets News Release
Minot, ND - September 20, 2007 - Basketball season is just around the corner, and the Minot Skyrockets are gearing up with the 2nd Annual Draft Party at Sports on Tap. The Skyrockets will once again be entertaining fans at the party on Tuesday, September 25th. The party starts at 6:30 pm and the draft begins at 7:00 pm.
The annual CBA Draft is used to select only rookie players as league rules mandate that every team carry a rookie player on their roster throughout the season. The rookie draft consists of 6 rounds where the team coaches and general managers select the best talent coming out of college. Once a player is drafted by a team, they hold the CBA rights to that player for a two-year period.
Skyrockets Head Coach Chris Daleo will be appearing at the Draft Party and answering questions about his draft picks, players, and his expectations for the upcoming season. The 2007-08 Rockettes Dance Team will be performing for the first time, and the Skyrockets will also be offering game-worn jerseys for sale to the public for the first time.
The Draft Party is open to the public (must be 21) and all are encouraged to come early and sign up for prizes to be given away throughout the evening. The party will start at 6:30 pm on Tuesday, September 25th. This will also be the last chance to take advantage of the "Buy One, Get One Free" offer on Skyrockets season tickets.
