Minot Skyrockets News Release
Tijuana, Mexico. The Ron Boone division-leading San Jose Skyrockets (21-5) traveled south of the border to Tijuana and pulled off a victory against the Tijuana Dragones, 119-96. The Skyrockets controlled most of the game, leading the game by as much as 17 points in the first half. The game was characterized by San Jose's strong guard play, as Lamar Castile came off the bench to score 28 points as well as the combined effort of Matt Luedtke, Todd Okeson and Anthony Lumpkin created havoc with Tijuana's ballhandling, causing 12 turnovers in the first half alone. Skyrockets' tenacious guard play continued in the third quarter with 6 more turnovers and scored off four of them. Luedke scored 15, Okeson 13 and Rock Winston, Solomon Hughes and Jamar Howard had 11 points each. The Dragons were led by Gene Shipley with 29 and Matt Vaughan with 28.
The #5 ranked Skyrockets play the Dragons again on Saturday night before heading over to meet the tough Gallup Talons and then returning home on Feb 25, 26 to meet the Orange County Buzz. For more information, call 408 293 3788 or visit www.sjskyrockets.com or www.abalive.com.
