Dream names head coach

Salt Lake City, UT. The American Basketball Association (ABA) is back in Salt Lake City for thre 2006-2007 season. Kenny Wamsley was introduced to the local media at a press conference there as the new owner of the team, the Sale Lake Dream. Kenny was born and raised in Salt Lake City, he knows the community and he understands the market. Kenny's past experience includes working for two Fortune 500 companies; he has also been in sales in many capacities. "My passion and dedication to basketball runs deep and I look forward to making this team a success," he said.

Scott Fields is the Head Coach of the team. Scott has accumulated a .766 win percentage as a head coach. He has won an Asian Championship, several countries' league championships and won several "Coach of the Year" awards. He has local ties to the area and has coached former Utah Jazz players Carlos Arroyo, Steven Howard and Jaime Watson. He has developed nearly 50 players to their respected national teams around the globe and is a proven winner, a great teacher of the game and has a strong rapport with the players. "I am thrilled for the opportunity and the challenges that come with this opportunity. My role with the team is to develop these players and teach them how to become more marketable players and help them attain their goals of playing in higher level leagues," he stated. "The team will be interesting with an up-temp style of play and tough defense; it will be a quality product on the floor." Scott will also work as Vice President of Basketball Operations.

Tony Farmer was introduced as the team's first player and signed. Tony has a rich background in pro basketball. He is a 6'10" 250 lb forward and Played for the Miami Heat, Charlotte Hornets and Golden State Warriors. He will work as President of Basketball Operations. "I will play from time to time, but most important, I will be hands on and have strong input with what happens with the team on a daily basis. I want to help the players be a positive role model in the community and help them seek counsel on post-career planning."

Jason Hanson was introduced at Director orf Marketing and announced that the first tryouts would be on February 24th and 25th at St. Lutherans High School. Pre-registration is $75; $100. at the door. It will be 6-9pm on the 24th and two sessions on the 25th - 10-1pm, 6-9pm. "We want to start evaluating talent quickly." For more information, visit www.saltlakedream.com or visit www.abalive.com.
