Salt Lake City Saints Name Derrick Pearson As President

Salt Lake City, UT. Kenny Wamsley, owner of the ABA Salt Lake City Saints today announced that Derrick Pearson as been named President and Director of Basketball Operations. "Derrick was the obvious choice," said Wamsley. "He is experienced and knowledgeable and connected. What he has done with the roster and the business of basketball behind the scenes is impressive and will help make us one of the best organizations in the ABA."
Pearson was the former "Voice of the ABA" and was a part of the Utah Snowbears and the Los Angeles Aftershock organizations.
"I am back in the ABA. I have known Kenny and Coach Mitchel for years and we all share the same vision on the team and what it could and should be," stated Pearson. "We did the business of basketball first, being fiscally sound, and now the basketball aspect has come together and we should be pretty good. It's more about doing this with substance and longevity and not spash and done. This isn't my first ABA experience so I kind of know where to step and what to look for."
The Saints regular season begins this weekend, Dec 7, 8 in Modesto and then home Dec 19, 20 vs the San Diego Wildcats. Pearson added, "We have quite a few more announcements coming - things are really happening here.
