
Skyrockets Blast Past San Francisco

San Jose, CA. The ABA San Jose Skyrockets (6-2) came from behind in the fourth quarter to defeat the San Francisco Pilots (3-2) for the second time this year in an ABA game at the San Jose Civic Auditorium. The final score was 108-102. In a fast paced game, the Pilots led 24-20 at the end of the first quarter and 52-48 at the half. SF was paced by Jovan Harris' 21 points and Kevin Butler's 12 points in the first half.
The third quarter finally saw San Jose take the lead 65-63 with 3:50 left, but once again trailed at the end of the period, 76-73. Rock Winston's 12 points led San Jose in the quarter. The fourth quartrer found the Skyrockets trailing 93-80 with 7:53 to go in the game but began to pally full court pressure and outscored the Pilots 28-9 the rest of the game. Jason Smith was the answer in that period when he scored 14 points. He finished with 21. Two other Skyrockets were big contributors - Lamar Castile and Rock Winston each tallied 22. Harris, who led all scorers with 29 points, paced the Pilots and Butler finished with 20. The Skyrockets leave for a very tough road trip to Washington where they play two games against Bellingham and one against Tacoma on three successive nights beginning Tuesday night.
