Indiana Slow-Melts The Ice

December 19, 2005 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Indiana AlleyCats News Release

Anderson, IN-Rumor has it the Ice really wanted to win this game. Maybe it was the bravado the Alley Cats showed after winning the last game against the Ice or maybe they just wanted a "W". After all, the Alley Cats went into the game 12-0. Regardless, of the reason there were no gifts handed out in Toledo Sunday night. Indiana wrapped up the game with a 107-90 win.

Numerous turnovers, sloppy offense and several missed lay-ups pretty much summed up the game for both teams. Defense, however was solid on both sides of the court especially considering that neither team could extend their lead by more than 6 points in the first half. Toledo closed the half in the lead 46-42 and just so you get an idea of the scoring in this one, Indiana had only 15 points in the second quarter while Toledo had 18 points.

Despite a first quarter struggle, Indiana rallied in the second half with several great dishes from Chandler Thompson and good defensive play from Shaun Fountain. Indiana made up for their dismal 15 point second quarter by putting up 19 points in 6 minutes in the third quarter alone.

The Alley Cats ran the fourth quarter and even excited some Ice fans with a two-hand power slam by Carl Edwards from a dish by Chandler Thompson. Indiana seals this win and continues their undefeated season at 13-0.

Chandler Thompson led all scorers with 27 points and 8 rebounds, Lincoln Glass and Aaron Hogg both contributed 15, Mack Mcgadney completed his debut with a strong 13 points and 5 rebounds and Carl Edwards and Brandon Brantley both chipped in with 10 points apiece.

Dubrey Black led the Ice with 18 points, Jamel Staten had 14 and Aaron Bates finished with 14 points.

Indiana's next game is December 20, 2005 at 7pm at the O.C. Lewis Gymnasium on the campus of Anderson University. For additional information, please contact Michelle Brantley via email at mreveter@hotmail.com or visit www.indyalleycats.com
