The Skyhawks would like to thank all our fans for coming out to see your new team play at Skylands Park. It has been a fun filled first half and we look forward to the rest of the season.

Upcoming Homestand

The Sussex Skyhawks return home this weekend to face the Nashua Pride, as the hunt for first place continues. With the First Half ending on July 12th, there are only 7 games left for the Skyhawks to overtake first and a playoff spot. Catch the Skyhawks by calling the Box Office 973-300-1000 x21.

Saturday July 8th is Hat Giveaway day sponsored by First Hope Bank. Gates open at 4:00PM and game time is 5:05PM. On Sunday, July 9th, the Skyhawks will be giving out Baseball Bats courtesy of Newton Hospital. Also on July 9th is Udderly Smooth Udder Cream Day. Samples will be given out at the Gate.

CAN-AM All-Star Team Announced

The Can-Am League today announced the players selected for the 2006 All-Star Game versus the American Association on Tuesday, July 18th in El Paso, TX. The starting lineup was determined by the league's 8 field managers and media representatives, while the reserves and pitchers were selected by New Haven County Cutters' and All-Star manager Mike Church. New Haven County pitching coach Rafael Valdez will serve as coach. Amongst the Pitchers selected was our very own Jose Correa. STARTERS(League leading statistics in parentheses thru July 3rd): 1B: Bill Peavey, New Jersey Jackals- Hitting .308 (10th) with 6 HR (T-1st), 27 runs scored (T-1st), .511 slugging percentage (2nd). 2B: Tom Creighton, Nashua Pride - Hitting .309 (9th) with 3 HR, 26 runs scored (T-3rd), 43 hits (T- 4th).
