Sussex Skyhawks News Release
SUSSEX, NJ (August, 2006) - Shortstop Bobby Lenoir of the Sussex Skyhawks recently put together a 23 game hitting streak, coming just four games short of the Can-Am league record of 27 games. The streak came to an end during the August 12 at the North Shore Spirit. In 75 games this season, Lenoir is hitting .280 with ten doubles, two triples, three home runs and 34 RBIs and an on-base percentage of .351.
The Can-Am league record of 27 straight games with a hit was set by Glen Ridge, NJ native Jake Daubert while playing for the Brockton Rox in 2005.
"Helping the team win is always my first priority as a baseball player," said Lenoir. "On a personal level, I am extremely proud of the hitting streak I put together. It has definitely been one of the highlights of this exciting inaugural season of the Sussex Skyhawks."
"Bobby's hitting streak was a good thing for our team to be a part of," said Manager Brian Drahman. "To achieve a hitting streak of 23 games is a very difficult task to achieve, day in and day out. The entire coaching staff is very proud of his accomplishment."
