Sioux Falls, SD (March 6, 2006) - The Sioux Falls Skyforce defeated the Michigan Mayhem tonight 119-96 (5.5, 1.5) to improve to 30-16 on the season. The ‘Force won their eleventh straight game and finished the regular season with a CBA-best 21-3 record at home. Michigan dropped to 7-37 with the loss to extend their losing streak to twelve games.

The ‘Force needed to win as many quarter-points as possible in order to widen the gap between them and the Yakama Sun Kings in the standings heading into the final weekend of the regular season. The ‘Force played well from the get go as they won the first quarter 30-18 behind seven points from Corey Williams. The ‘Force continued to dominate the Mayhem in the second quarter and led 64-36 heading into halftime. The ‘Force won the second quarter 34-18 behind seven points a piece from Eric Sandrin and Jermaine Walker. The ‘Force had their largest lead of the game early in the second half as they led by 32 points (73-41) with 9:23 in the third quarter. Michigan was able to remain close in the quarter score and won the third quarter 36-31 behind 16 points from Jason Boucher. The ‘Force maintained a comfortable lead in the final quarter, however, the final quarter-point was up for grabs in the final minute. Chris Owens made two clutch free throws to tie the quarter score with :05 second left in the game and the ‘Force came up with a huge defensive stop to share the final quarter-point with the Mayhem. Corey Williams had another outstanding performance as he tied Cedric Hunter's team record for triple-doubles in a single season (three).

The Skyforce's next game is on Saturday, March 11, on the road against the Idaho Stampede. Tip-off is set for 8:10 pm CST at Qwest Arena.
