Steelheads Playoff Tickets Go On Sale Friday
March 7, 2006 - Continental Basketball Association 1 (CBA 1)
Gary Steelheads News Release
GARY, Indiana (March 8, 2006) - The Gary Steelheads announced that playoff tickets are now on sale. Gary became the first team in the league to qualify for the playoffs in the CBA's 60th Anniversary Season. It is the second time in franchise history that the Steelheads have qualified to appear in the post-season.
Fans can place ticket deposits for the first round of the playoffs through Ticketmaster, the Genesis Center Box Office or by calling the team office at (219) 882-4CBA (4222). Championship Series tickets will be sold separately.
Ticket prices are the same as during the regular season: Upper Level ($5), Lower Level ($10-$12), Courtside seats ($25), and Nicholson seats ($45). Corporate Tables, which seat four, may be purchased for $100 subject to availability.
The six teams included in this year's playoffs have now been determined. In the CBA's Eastern Conference, Rockford, Gary and Albany have earned playoff berths. In the West, Sioux Falls, Yakama and Idaho will move on to the playoffs. With less than a week remaining in the season, only the playoff slots remain unresolved.
The top three slots earn two home dates in a best-of-three playoff with teams from the opposite conference. The lower three positions have only a single home game. Based on the standings prior to Tuesday night's games, Sioux Falls, Rockford and Gary hold the top three playoff slots. If all teams were to hold their current positions, Gary would most likely host the Yakama Sun Kings on Thursday, March 16th and the Idaho Stampede on Saturday, March 18th. They would travel to play at Sioux Falls. The playoff slots, however, are contingent on the final seedings.
Since the remaining week of the regular season is so important, WJOB in Hammond (1230khz) and WIMS in Michigan City (1420khz) have announced they will pick up the feed of the Steelheads' game at Michigan on Thursday night. Airtime will be 6:00PM CST for the broadcast, originating from the L.C. Walker Arena in Muskegon. WJOB/WIMS management is also reviewing station availability for future playoff broadcasts.
