Skyforce To Hold Open Tryouts

Sioux Falls, S.D. (September 10, 2009) - The Sioux Falls Skyforce announced today that the team will hold open tryouts for the 2009-10 season on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 23-24 at Family Wellness located at 8701 W. 32nd St. in Sioux Falls, S.D. The registration fee includes a ticket to the Timberwolves-Raptors preseason game on Friday, Oct. 23 at the Sioux Falls Arena.
Open tryouts offer local athletes an opportunity to showcase their talents in front of NBA Development League coaches while they compete to earn a position in the team's official training camp. Training camp is scheduled to begin in mid-November.
Registration on Friday begins at 11:30 a.m. with the first session set to begin at 12 p.m. The tryouts will conclude with one session on Saturday beginning at 9 a.m. Each session of the two-day tryout camp will last approximately four hours.
Applicants must be eligible to play in the NBA Development League and are required to pre-register by submitting the official registration, release, disclosure and background check forms, along with a $130 nonrefundable fee. Tryout forms are available online (www.skyforceonline.com) or at the Skyforce office located at 2131 S. Minnesota Ave. in Sioux Falls. Completed forms and entry fee must be mailed to the Skyforce office no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 16 to secure a spot in the tryout camp. Participants who register after the deadline or the first day of the tryout will be charged $150 and will not be guaranteed a ticket to the Wolves-Raptors game. Tryout attendees that will need lodging should contact the Days Inn Empire at (605) 361-9240 and ask for the Skyforce rate.
Season tickets and 12-ticket flex packs are on sale for the 2009-10 season. Discounts and benefits are also available for groups of 10 or more. Single game tickets will go on sale in early November.
