Skyforce Get Another One In Dakota

BISMARCK, N.D. February 17, 2008: Sioux Falls took control of the Dakota Wizards early and never let up as the Skyforce pulled within two games in the Central Division winning 112 -100 at the Bismarck Civic Center tonight.

The Skyforce rallied behind a heavy heart, as Head Coach Nate Tibbetts did not travel with the team due to the loss of his father Fred Tibbetts. D-League All-Star forward Kasib Powell, who flew in just in time for the game from the D-League All-Star game in New Orleans laced up the Adidas and scored a game high 25 points in Fred Tibbetts honor.

"I was really tired today, and I didn't think I was going to play", said forward Kasib Powell following the game. "When I heard the news about coaches father I knew it was the right thing to do."

Sioux Falls led by as many as 22 points in the match up which featured five players in double digits. Guard Elton Nesbitt set the tone early as he was seven for eleven from long distance finishing the night with 21 points while forward Carl Elliott gave a spark off the bench hitting 19 points on the night. Center Chris Alexander and guard David Bailey both poured in 15 points.

Dakota falls to 18-13 on the season and were led in scoring by center Kevin lyde who had a double double 20 points 14 rebounds. Forward Will Frisby cracked into the starting lineup and also pulled down a double double hitting 18 points while grabbing 11 boards. Guard Blake Ahearn had 19 points in the loss.

The Wizards head back to Sioux Falls for yet another battle on Tuesday before playing in Iowa the following night. Sioux Falls, now 17-16 are above .500 hundred for the first time this season and hold the series win record over Dakota 3-2.
