SATURDAY NIGHT HIGHLIGHTS...top performers from Saturday's All-Star game
v Fort Wayne's Jeremy Richardson scored a game-high 22 points in the second annual D-League All-Star Game presented by Spalding, while Morris Almond finished with 20 points in the winning Blue Team effort.
v Colorado 14er Elton Brown scored 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in the Red Team's All-Star loss.
RICHARDSON EARNS MVP: Jeremy Richardson, who has earned GATORADE Call-Ups from four NBA teams, was named MVP of the 2008 D-League All-Star Game as he led his Blue Team to victory.
PETWAY LEADS DREAMING D-LEAGUERS: Brent Petway of the Idaho Stampede took home the title of inaugural D-League Slam Dunk Champion in the first-ever Dream Factory Friday Night while Carlos Powell of the Dakota Wizards came away victorious, as he won the Hot Shot competition with New Orleans native and D-League fan Will Clapp as his partner. Lance Allred, also of the Stampede, came away with a win in the first NBA sponsored H.O.R.S.E. competition in 30 years, and Adam Harrington came away as the Three-Point Shoot-Out champion.
D-LEAGUE REPRESENTED IN NBA ALL-STAR FESTIVITIES: Three NBA players with D-League experience highlight the lineup of talent at NBA All-Star events, including Jordan Farmar, of the Los Angeles Lakers, who participated in the T-Mobile Rookie Challenge and Youth Jam, Jamario Moon (Toronto Raptors) and Gerald Green (Minnesota Timberwolves) who both took part in Sprite Slam Dunk.
