Skyforce Cruise Past Delaware 108-85 for Sixth Consecutive Victory
December 5, 2015 - NBA G League (G League)
Sioux Falls Skyforce News Release
Sioux Falls, SD - The Sioux Falls Skyforce remained hot Saturday night, sweeping the Delaware 87ers with a 108-85 win, their sixth consecutive victory, matching the longest winning streak in the NBA Development League this season.
The Skyforce (6-2), who have won each of their past six games by double digits, trailed 4-0 in the opening minute of the game. That would be Delaware's (4-5) only lead, as the Skyforce led 30-14 at the end of the first quarter.
DeAndre Liggins finished with a game and season-high 22 points on 7-of-13 shooting and filled up the rest of the stat sheet, adding seven rebounds and six assists. Liggins entered tonight's matchup ranked fourth in the NBADL in assists per game (6.6).
Greg Whittington added a 13-point, 13-rebound effort, his fifth double-double this season, to go along with seven assists, three steals and a block.
Miami HEAT assignee Jarnell Stokes finished with 19 points and eight rebounds on 7-of-12 shooting. The Skyforce are now 5-0 with him in uniform.
The Skyforce defense fueled their offense again in this one, forcing 24 turnovers and limiting the 87ers backcourt duo of Sean Kilpatrick and Jordan McRae to just 2-of-8 shooting from three-point range. The duo entered Saturday's contest with 41 combined three-pointers made, while the Skyforce limited the tandem to just five combined three-pointers made the past two games.
McRae joined John Bohannon with a team-high 16 points. Bohannon also added 11 rebounds, two steals and two blocks.
The Skyforce's six consecutive victories ties the Westchester Knicks, who started the season 6-0, for the longest winning streak in the NBADL this season.
The Skyforce and 87ers meet for their second and final back-to-back series of the season on March 25 and 26 in Newark, Delaware.
Sioux Falls returns to action on the road next weekend with a Saturday, December 12 meeting against the Texas Legends, followed by a Monday, December 14 matchup against the Rio Grande Valley Vipers.
