
Skyforce clinches playoff berth

Sioux Falls, SD (February 28, 2006) - The Sioux Falls Skyforce became the fourth team to clinch a spot in the 2006 Continental Basketball Association Playoffs after garnering 5.5 quarter points in its 100-92 victory over the Yakama Sun Kings last night. The Skyforce (4.05 QP avg.) are assured of finishing no lower than third place in the Western Conference and currently sit in first place in the West, just ahead of second-place Yakama (3.93 QP avg.).
Sioux Falls has 174.0 total quarter points through 43 games, the second highest total in the CBA behind the Eastern Conference-leading Gary Steelheads (178.5 through 44 games). The Skyforce have won eight straight games to take over first place in the Western Conference, including three-consecutive road wins, one at Idaho and two at Yakama. They have won 11 of their last 12 contests, overall.
Others who have also clinched spots in the 2006 CBA Playoffs are Gary and Rockford (Feb. 17) and Yakama (Feb. 27). The CBA regular season ends on Sunday, March 12. The playoff dates and times will be determined based on the order of finish and arena availability.
