June 21, 2016 - Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA)
Chicago Sky News Release
CHICAGO - Lisa Byington will return to the Chicago Sky's broadcast team and will replace Eric Collins, who has relocated due to obligations with the Charlotte Hornets.
"We're excited to bring Lisa back for this season," said Sky President and CEO Adam Fox. "Her professionalism and enthusiasm for sports, as well as her experience calling games at the college and pro levels make her a great addition to the broadcast team."
Byington was the Sky's play-by-play announcer during the 2013 and 2014 seasons. She brings more than 15 years of broadcast experience. Most recently, Byington served as a broadcaster for various sports for the Big Ten Network, Fox Sports 1, ESPN and the Chicago Red Stars. She earned her Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree in Journalism at Northwestern University where she was also a two-sport athlete.
"I am thrilled to be back broadcasting in the WNBA, and in particular, during such a banner season for the league," said Byington. "I felt fortunate to have the 'best seat in the house' for some championship 'firsts' for the franchise a few years ago, and I look forward to calling many more special moments this season."
Byington will work alongside Stephen Bardo as the play-by-play announcer for the remainder of the Chicago Sky's 2016 season. Bardo is in his second year with the Chicago Sky as color analyst.
