The Chicago Sky lost to the Connecticut Sun 92-63 in Mohegan Sun Arena on Monday, June 22. The Sky are now 4-12 on the season, 3-6 on the road, 1-7 against the Eastern Conference and 35-40 against the Sun all time.
Kamilla Cardoso continued her strong play, leading the Sky in scoring and on the boards with 16 points, 14 rebounds, two steals and two blocks. Azurá Stevens turned in another productive outing with 11 points, three boards and an assist. Rookie Sydney Taylor continued her strong rookie season with 10 points, two assists and one rebound off the bench. Monday's performance marks the fourth consecutive game in which Taylor finished with at least 10 points.
The Sun saw five players score in double figures. Nine-time Brittney Griner led the Sun in scoring with 14 points, eight rebounds, three assists and four blocks. She reached No. 1 on the WNBA's all-time blocks list in tonight's game. Charlisse Leger-Walker recorded 13 points, seven rebounds and five assists.
Leïla Lacan tallied 12 points, three steals and two assists. Aaliyah Edwards and Olivia Nelson-Ododa each finished with 11 points in tonight's matchup. Nelson-Ododa tallied 15 rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocks, while Edwards added five rebounds.

Kamilla Cardoso (1,065) surpassed Jessica Breland (1,061) for No. 15 on the Sky's top scorers list
Skylar Diggins (1,482) surpassed Tina Thompson (1,480) for No. 7 on the WNBA's all-time free throws made list
Brittney Griner (878) surpassed Margo Dydek (877) for No. 1 on the WNBA's all-time blocks list
NEXT UP: The Sky return home for the first of three matchups to host the Portland Fire on Wednesday, June 24 in Wintrust Arena. They play the Fire in two consecutive games. The first of the two is the second matchup this season. Chicago is 1-0 against the expansion Fire.
Chicago previously defeated Portland 98-83 in their season opener at the Moda Center in Portland. Center Kamilla Cardoso controlled the boards with a 24-point, 14-rebound double-double to go along with an assist and a block. Veteran Skylar Diggins also finished with a double-double (21 points, 11 rebounds) and shot 66.7% (8 for 12) from the field while adding seven assists and two blocks. They became the first duo to each record 20-point double-doubles in an opener for the Sky.
For the Fire, four players scored in double figures. Guard Carla Leite led in scoring with 18 points, three rebounds and three assists, while rookie Sarah Ashlee Barker registered 13 points, hitting six of nine attempts from the field. Bridget Carleton recorded 13 points and four assists. To round out Portland, Megan Gustafson finished the night with 10 points, one rebound and an assist.
Leite leads the Fire in scoring and assists, averaging 14.1 points and 5.6 assists per game in 24.2 minutes of action. Carleton is the second-leading scorer, averaging 13.8 points per game to go along with 3.3 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.7 steals. Emily Engstler leads the team in rebounding, averaging 4.7 rebounds per game while contributing 9.2 points per contest. Gustafson is contributing 11.2 points per game while shooting 55.9% from the field, along with 3.8 rebounds per game.
The game between Chicago and Portland tips off at 7 p.m. in Wintrust Arena on Wednesday, June 24 and will be broadcast locally on The U.
