Skip Foster joins Arizona Rattlers coaching staff

PHOENIX - The Arizona Rattlers have named Skip Foster as the team's new Offensive Coordinator and Assistant Head Coach, Head Coach Kevin Guy announced on Wednesday. Foster becomes the first assistant coach to be added to Guy's new staff.

"We are extremely pleased that we were able to secure Skip Foster as our offensive coordinator and assistant head coach", said Guy. "Over his long career, Skip has been a winner everywhere he has been. He's a great recruiter and will be an excellent fit for us."

Foster spent the 2007 season as Offensive Coordinator of the Columbus Destroyers, who advanced to ArenaBowl XXI before being beaten by Kevin Guy's San Jose Sabercats. Prior to joining the Destroyers, Foster spent three seasons as the Head Coach of the Austin Wranglers where he amassed a record of 24-25, including a 10-6 record in 2006 and Austin's first ever playoff appearance.

"I am very excited about joining Coach Guy's staff with the Arizona Rattlers", said Foster. "Kevin has proven that he is a winner in this league and has been a successful Head Coach. I believe he understands the formula for leading a successful football team. I am very appreciative for the Arizona Rattlers organization to allow me to join a franchise with such a rich tradition. We will work every day to bring the Rattlers organization to the expectation level the great Rattlers fans are used to."

His coaching resume' also includes three seasons (2001-2003) with the af2 Tulsa Talons where he compiled a 44-10 record and won an ArenaCup championship (2003) and twelve seasons as the Head Coach of Coffeyville Community College, where he won one national championship (1990) and was named conference coach of the year twice (1990, 1991).
