New Britain Bees News Release
On a cool May night for baseball, the bats of the New Britain Bees could not warm up against Sugar Land Skeeters pitching, getting shut out for the first time in franchise history 4-0.
Making his third start of the season, left-hander Josh Outman pitched well in six innings of work, allowing just two runs and striking out four. While the veteran pitched well, his counterpart- Parker Frazier- was even better, shutting out the Bees across seven innings and allowing just five baserunners (four singles and a walk). Frazier was able to keep the Bees' bats silenced thanks in part to his defense, which turned three of its four double plays on the night behind the right-hander.
As they have done a number of times this season, the Bees did threaten in the ninth inning. With two runners on against left-hander Derrick Loop, the Bees were able to get the tying run in the form of Jon Griffin into the on-deck circle. However, Loop recovered and was able to strike out pinch-hitter Norberto Susini to end the game.
Pitchers of Record: WP - Parker Frazier (2-0) | LP - Josh Outman (0-2)
