
Skeeters Drop Second Straight to Revolution in 8-4 Loss

The Skeeters dropped their second straight game to the York Revolution Wednesday night, 8-4. The game was tied 4-4 after six innings, but the Revolution scored a pair of runs in both the seventh and the eighth, and the Skeeters could not make up the deficit.
Sugar Land gave the fans plenty to cheer about in the early innings though, as Dominic Ramos slammed a solo homer in the second inning, his tenth of the year, to tie the game, 2-2. Steve Moss and Koby Clemens both scored in the fourth, on passed balls by Revolution catcher Charlie Neil, putting Sugar Land up 4-3 after four.
Despite committing two errors and allowing 13 hits, the Skeeters stayed in the game thanks to four double-plays. In the ninth inning, York reliever Michael Wuertz retired the Skeeters in order to finish the 8-4 win.
Up Next : The Skeeters take on York in the third game of the series Thursday, as LHP Jason Lane (8-3, 2.79) makes his return to Sugar Land against RHP Pedro Liriano (6-4, 4.89) for the Revolution. It's Alzheimer's Awareness Night, sponsored by Sugar Land Silverado Memory Care and Community. Fans can bid on jerseys to raise money for the Alzheimer's Association, as well as bring a photo of a loved one who has had Alzheimer's to display on a memory wall.
